I started my new job this week, where I can apply the skills that I studied for in my master’s degree. In my first week on the job, I went through the training they presented to me. From learning our security platform to knowing the policies and procedures of what we do here. I cannot go into much detail since I signed a confidentiality agreement that, in basic terms, means what I have learned in that area has to stay in that area. In the final days of the week, I sat in meetings where I learned to navigate our security platform, which performs like a SIEM/SOAR. On the side, I have been studying for certifications since I am required to take two certifications by a certain time. Also, I have been studying some extra-curricular certifications such as the SecurityX certification and the CISM since my main goal is to be a consultant one day. Let’s see what happens next.
